H1 Unlimited | Miss Goodman Real Estate

The U-91 “Miss Goodman Real Estate” stands as one of the premier contenders in the H1 Unlimited hydroplane fleet. Now owned and operated by BWR Racing under Bruce Ratchford, the boat continues a proud legacy of power, precision, and performance at the sport’s highest level.

Piloted by Andrew Tate, the U-91 has carried the Goodman Real Estate colors with pride, claiming multiple podium finishes across the circuit and capturing major victories, including the 2025 Apollo Mechanical Cup at Seafair. The combination of Tate’s skill and the technical expertise of the BWR Racing team ensures that the U-91 remains a constant threat at every stop on the tour.

Originally built in 2018 by the Miss Madison organization, this cutting-edge Unlimited hydroplane is powered by a Lycoming T55 L-7 turbine engine, a former U.S. Army Chinook helicopter engine, producing more than 2,650 horsepower. Measuring 30 feet in length and 14.5 feet in width, and weighing approximately 6,600 pounds, the U-91 can reach speeds exceeding 190 mph as it glides just inches above the water.

Grand Prix | Wild One GP-71

GP-71 “The Wild One”

The GP-71 “The Wild One” has a rich legacy in Grand Prix hydroplane racing. Originally campaigned as the GP-777 “Steeler” and later as the GP-88, the boat has always been owned and operated by Huey Newport Motorsports. Over the years, this powerful machine has captured multiple championships and claimed several final victories at Valleyfield, solidifying its place among the most successful hulls in modern GP racing.

Behind the wheel for the past five years, Andrew Tate continues to carry on the winning tradition. Built to Grand Prix class specifications, the GP-71 measures roughly 12.6 feet wide, weighs around 3,250 pounds, and is powered by a supercharged 468 ci big-block V8 producing about 1,500 horsepower, reaching top speeds near 170 mph.

GNH 30 | Budget Buster

The GNH-30 “Budget Buster” is one of the most accomplished and recognizable boats in the National Modified Hydroplane class. Driven by Andrew for the past 7 years, this sleek and powerful machine has become a consistent front-runner and record-setter within the American Power Boat Association (APBA).

Competing under the Budget Buster Racing banner, Andrew achieved two APBA National Modified Hydroplane world records at the Orange Cup Regatta in Lakeland, Florida — setting marks of 105.503 mph (5-mile / 5-lap) and 113.171 mph (5-mile / 4-lap). These records highlight both the speed and consistency of the Budget Buster program and reinforce Andrew’s mastery across multiple hydroplane categories.

Designed within the National Modified class specifications, the GNH-30 “Budget Buster” is powered by a naturally aspirated automotive-based V8 engine, typically producing between 650 and 900 horsepower, depending on setup. The hydroplane measures approximately 20–21 feet in length and weighs around 1,700 to 1,900 pounds, with a three-point hull configuration that lifts nearly clear of the water at racing speed. Reaching velocities of over 130 mph, these boats showcase pure acceleration, precision, and driver control, skimming the surface with only inches of hull in contact with the water.

Hydro 350 - 5 liter class Penzoil H-300

The H-300 “Pennzoil” showcases Andrew Tate’s versatility and precision behind the wheel in the highly competitive Hydro 350 class. Known for its tight racing and evenly matched engines, this category demands finesse, focus, and perfect balance between power and handling, all trademarks of Tate’s driving style.

Built to Hydro 350 specifications, the H-300 is powered by a Chevrolet 350 c.i. small-block V8 producing approximately 425 horsepower. The hull measures about 20 feet (6 m) in length, weighs roughly 1,700 lb (770 kg), and reaches speeds of more than 125 mph (200 km/h) as it skims just inches above the water.

A multi-time race winner in the Hydro 350 division, Andrew is regarded as one of the fiercest competitors in the Hydroplane Racing League (HRL), where he regularly battles against more than 20 top-level drivers on circuits across North America.

F1 Powerboat | #14 Fenom Venture

Competing in the F1 Powerboat Championship, Andrew Tate pilots the #14 “Fenom Venture”, a tunnel boat built for speed, agility, and precision. Entering his third season in 2026 with the team, Andrew has firmly established himself as one of the most skilled and respected competitors on the circuit.

Unlike traditional hydroplanes, the F1 boat features a catamaran-style tunnel hull, allowing it to ride on a cushion of air between its sponsons. Powered by a Mercury Racing 2.5-liter EFI outboard engine producing around 375 horsepower, the lightweight craft (about 1,000 lb / 450 kg) can reach speeds of 120–135 mph (195–215 km/h) while maintaining exceptional stability through tight, high-speed corners.

Outboard Class

In addition to his full-time hydroplane commitments, Andrew occasionally competes in the Outboard classes, the foundation of his racing career and the discipline where his lifelong passion for boat racing began. These smaller, wooden kneel-down hydroplanes demand balance, precision, and pure driver instinct, offering some of the most exciting side-by-side racing in the sport.

Outboard hydroplanes are lightweight, typically 9–13 feet in length and powered by two-stroke Mercury or OMC outboard engines producing between 15 and 100 horsepower, depending on class. Racing at speeds that can exceed 80 mph (130 km/h), these boats are agile and unforgiving, testing a driver’s reflexes and focus at every corner.
