Andrew Tate Concludes New Zealand Season with Victory in Twizel Finale

Twizel, New Zealand – March 2024 — American driver Andrew Tate closed out an incredible New Zealand campaign with a victory in the final round of the Lucas Oil NZ Hydro Thunder Series, held on Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel. The win marked Tate’s first appearance in New Zealand and a storybook ending to a thrilling international season that saw five different winners across five rounds.

Piloting the GP-6 Gulf Oil hydroplane, Tate edged out hometown favourite Ken Lupton in a tense, high-speed showdown that will go down as one of the most exciting races in recent series history. The pair made contact mid-race, but Tate held his line, showing trademark composure and precision to claim the checkered flag in front of a packed Twizel crowd.

“It’s an incredible feeling to come all the way to New Zealand and finish the season with a win,” said Tate. “The competition here is fierce, the drivers are skilled, the boats are fast, and the fans are passionate.

As Tate now turns his focus back to North America for the upcoming H1 Unlimited and HRL season, his successful New Zealand campaign stands as a powerful reminder of his versatility, consistency, and determination to race and win anywhere in the world.
